🧩 Vyre Devlog #1 — The City Awakens


Hey everyone 👋 Welcome to the first official devlog for Vyre — a project that’s been living in my head for a while and is finally taking shape.

🎯 What Vyre Is

Vyre is my take on a true adult-themed social-life simulator — think GTA meets The Sims, but with depth, choice, and realism at its core.

It’s not about cheap or shock value content. It’s about immersion — walking through a living city where every door opens, every person has purpose, and every choice has weight.

You’ll be able to:

Explore a detailed city with accessible interiors

Work jobs, socialise, and build relationships

Experience day/night cycles (~105 minutes in real-time)

Manage stats like stamina, boredom, and pleasure

Play both offline story mode and online sandbox

Watch the world literally evolve through AI-driven construction

That’s the long-term vision — and now the groundwork is finally real.

đź§± Where Development Is Right Now

Vyre is currently in prototype stage, built in Unity 6000.2.6f2 (URP). Here’s what’s already working:

âś… Third-person player movement âś… Smooth camera orbit system (GTA-style) âś… Real doors with proper hinges âś… Trello + Unity Version Control workflow

That last one’s a big deal — it’s what brings Vyre to life.

đź§  The City Overseer System

Rather than manually placing every building, Vyre’s world is self-constructing. The City Overseer AI builds the city dynamically — choosing zones, placing structures, and progressing visible construction over time.

Players (and NPCs) can even influence that process later: donate funds, help build through mini-games, or cause chaos if things go wrong.

Every session, the city feels a little more alive — because it literally is.

🌆 The “Main City” Scene

The current focus is the Main City — Vyre’s first world map and active testbed.

Right now, I’m setting up the Downtown district, a 500x500m prototype area where the Overseer system constructs real buildings from a curated prefab pool.

The goal:

Watch the AI populate the world in real-time

Walk through the evolving city

Eventually anchor the first big landmark attraction — an Ice Skating Rink that doubles as a social hub and mini-game zone.

🔮 What’s Next

Next steps are clear:

Finalize the Downtown build system inside Main City

Integrate the first attraction (the Ice Rink)

Begin linking player stats and world interactions

Polish the AI city construction loop

After that, it’s full steam toward the Alpha, where the first proper gameplay loop will emerge — movement, needs, interaction, and a small slice of city life.
